2003
The Market on Newcastle started over 20 years ago as a furniture store. The founder, Melissa Bagby, designed, made, and restored quality one-of-a-kind pieces. Because of her amazing eye and her knack for unique products, she soon opened the doors as a retail space to compliment her furniture designs.
2007
In 2007, the building was given some TLC and a fresh face. Drawing inspiration from classic architecture in the southeast, The Market is now famous for its iconic yellow and black facade.
2022
The Market has since evolved into something bigger and even more unique. In 2022, after almost 40 years in the business, Melissa retired. Because of her, The Market on Newcastle has not only continued to be a staple in the heart of Downtown Brunswick — but is now a part of its history.
Now under new ownership, we still offer one-of-a-kind pieces, kindly curated gifts, and high quality furniture that will last for generations.
